This Privacy Policy does not cover 3rd parties that I may use,  as set out below.  If you have concerns they will have their own Privacy Policies   

About Your Personal Data - What is collected and Why?

When you create an account on the website, you will be consenting to us holding the name and contact details you give as someone who has shown an interest in our products and who may wish to return at a later date to place an order but we will not contact you without your explicit consent to do so unless there are legitimate business interests which would allow us to do so in order to provide a service to you.
When you make an online purchase the name and contact details you give will be used to fulfil the contract and to contact you with regard to any queries or delivery issues pertaining to that contract.  Your purchase history will be retained for 6 years beyond the end of the contract to comply with accounting law.
We keep a record of all email correspondence you send us relating to orders or any enquiries so we can track any problems or concerns and ensure we provide a good service.
We use 3rd party providers to take payment on our behalf, namely WorldPay and PayPal.  We do not receive or store any of your payment information.  
You will be offered the option to sign up for an occasional newsletter to provide you with exclusive offers/discounts; information on new products or designers;  styling tips;  links to blogs and other features that we feel you may be interested in or benefit from. If you sign up to receive this you will have the opportunity to unsubscribe easily at any time.  A 3rd party provider is used to help us deliver this information, namely MailChimp who gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve the newsletter/information we are sending you.  For more information please see MailChimp's own privacy policy.
From time to time there will be the opportunity to purchase from Sophisticato at an event either by cash or with the use of a card reader operated by Barclays Bank.   No details are required in order to do this.  No payment information is received by us or any other personal data.  If you have any concerns about this please see Barclays Bank's privacy policy.  If at such events you sign up for our newsletter, we will keep a record of your consent in compliance with the new regulations and as always you will have a clear unsubscribe option to withdraw your consent.  

Sharing your Data

Other than for the purposes mentioned above which are legitimate for the provision of the service we are offering, your data will never be shared or sold on to a 3rd party for any marketing purposes however if we are requested by the police or any other regulatory or government authority investigating suspected illegal activities to provide your Personal Information and /or User Information, we are entitled do so.

How we protect information

We take every precaution to protect your information. 

To this end all personal information stored by us is kept on a server in a secure environment. Only employees, and any sub-contractors who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.

Your Rights

If you would like any personal information deleted that we do not have a legal obligation to retain we will comply with any request immediately.  If for instance you created an account but do not intend to use it for whatever reason.  

You have the right to any information about the collection and storage of your data and we will endeavour to be as transparent as possible.

Cookies Policy

When someone visits we use 'cookies' to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the site, where on the site they are looking, how long they spend on the site etc and we use 3rd party analytics provided by Google to help us to evaluate the information which enables us to make the visitor experience better, to identify where improvements to the website can be made and to make it easier for you to navigate and return to the website.  This information is anonymised and does not identify anyone.  If you have any concerns please visit Google's own Privacy Policy.  

You of course have the right through your browser settings to disable cookies however this will diminish the website performance and make your visit less enjoyable and in some cases may not operate at all.
